When the cold weather settles in, New York’s chic set inevitably dream about a seasonal migration to warmer climes. At a party earlier this week to celebrate the Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts' 21 landmark hotels around the world, the Waldorf-Astoria made this dream a little more accessible by offering the ASMALLWORLD members in attendance a two-night stay at a Waldorf Astoria Resort or Hotel in Florida. "I'm planning to take my 5-year-old godson to Disneyland before Christmas," said ASW's new chairman, Swiss entrepreneur Patrick Liotard-Vogt.

The event itself, in a suite at the Waldorf Towers, evoked the old world iconic glamour of the Waldorf heritage; the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Cole Porter, Marilyn Monroe and infamous gangster "Bugsy" Siegel all made the Waldorf their home at some point. Naturally, the party chatter centered on holiday trips. "The Waldorf has always been a place of celebration for us. Every year on Christmas Eve we make our nostalgic passage from St. Bartholomew's Church to the Bull and the Bear. We look forward to starting a new tradition in the Keys," said Ruffian designing duo Brian Wolk and Claude Morais. Across the room style icon Lauren Goodman told socialite Annie Churchill, “at Christmas time, our family would come from Connecticut to visit the tree at Rockerfeller Center, windows on 5th Avenue and have tea at the Waldorf. I am excited to experience in the same glamour in Florida, another perfect winter retreat."

Other guests in attendance were designers Nina Freudenberger , Guini Suarez and Eric Villency, actress Tarajia Morrell, writers Anisha Lakhani, Neel Shah, Ali Wolfe, Darrell Hartman and Danny Shea, PR mavens Karen Duffy and Bettina Smith, and bright young things Frances Tulk-Hart, Antonia Thompson, Serena Nikkhah, Eugenia Gonzalez, Chessy Wilson, Serena Merriman, Jennifer Pastore, Nick Brown, Dalia Oberlander, Liz Meigher and DR Dwyer.
