The Pianissimo show concludes with Dmitry Shishkin, the silver medalist at the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition. The performance features works such as "Prelude, fugue and Variation, op. 18" by C. Frank; "Dumka", op. 59, "Scherzo à la Russe", op. 1, No 1 by Scriabin; "Sonata Fantasie no. 2, op. 19" by P. Tchaikovsky; "Ten Preludes", op. 23 including Prelude No 1, op. 23 in F-sharp minor, Prelude No 3, op. 23, Prelude No 10, op. 32 in B minor, and Prelude No 12, in G-sharp minor by S. Rachmaninoff; and finally, "Piano Sonata No 2, op. __".
Dmitry, currently based in Switzerland, initiated his piano studies at the Gnessin School of Music in Moscow under Mikhail Khokhlov. He continued his education at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow with Eliso Virsaladze, and later pursued studies at the “Vincenzo Bellini” State Conservatory in Catania with Epifanio Comis, as well as at the Musikhochschule in Hannover with Arie Vardi.
